02 Jun Kemp-DeLisser v. St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
On November 3, 2016, the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut approved a class action settlement in this lawsuit alleging that St. Francis avoided federal requirements relating, among other things, to fully funding its employee pension plan, by improperly claiming a “church plan” exemption. The settlement requires Defendants to contribute an additional $107 million to the pension plan over ten years and provide additional financial guarantees for a period of fifteen years. The Case was captioned Kemp-DeLisser v. St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center, No. 3:15-cv-01113-VAB.
