Jurich v. Verde Energy USA, Inc.

Jurich v. Verde Energy USA, Inc.

Plaintiff brought this suit on behalf of all customers of Verde Energy USA, Inc (“Verde”) in Connecticut alleging that Defendant’s variable  electricity rates in  Connecticut were not, as it claimed in its contracts, based on “market” related factors, but instead were higher than prevailing market rates.

The Complaint was filed in June of 2015.  Thereafter, the parties engaged in lengthy motion practice as set forth in Plaintiff’s Memorandum of Law in Support of Motion for Preliminary Approval of Class Action Settlement, available below.  During the litigation, the parties also participated in three full-day mediation sessions.

In September 2019, the parties reached an agreement on a Settlement to the litigation, which the Court preliminary approved on October 21, 2019.

On February 24, 2020, the court approved the Settlement Agreement.
