Christopher M. Barrett

Chris is a plaintiff-side litigator and class action attorney with 15 years of experience handling complex cases involving employee benefits, pensions, insurance, and securities. He represents both classes and individual clients and has helped recover hundreds of millions of dollars for class members. He also represents individuals as defendants in complex civil litigation.

For the past decade, a significant portion of his practice has focused on ERISA and insurance litigation, representing employees, retirees, and policyholders whose pensions or benefits were wrongfully diminished or withheld. More broadly, his work spans complex class and individual litigation against major financial institutions and corporations, including American Airlines, FedEx, Delta, DuPont, MetLife, UPS, Rockwell, Sprint, Kohler, Barclays Bank, iStar Financial, and Ikanos Communications.

Earlier in his career, Chris prosecuted securities class actions on behalf of defrauded investors at a prominent national firm and previously practiced at a large international firm. That background continues to shape his ERISA and complex litigation work, which often involves financial modeling, actuarial assumptions, and long-term financial obligations.

In addition to his firm work, Chris has served as pro bono trial counsel in significant federal felony cases and as a volunteer attorney on the District of Connecticut’s Civil Pro Bono Panel.

He is admitted in Connecticut and New York, as well as the District of Connecticut, S.D.N.Y., E.D.N.Y., E.D. Wis., and the Second Circuit. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law, where he was a member of the Fordham Law Review, inducted into the Order of the Coif, and received the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award.

Outside of work, Chris serves on the board of a youth sports league and coaches flag football and basketball.
